Help us understand property protection in West Yorkshire

 

You may or may not have heard or read about ways to protect your property from theft. Whilst it is impossible to remove all threat of theft, registering property certainly reduces its chance of being stolen, whilst increasing the chances of it being returned. West Yorkshire Police deal with an array of property marking companies and we want to understand your awareness of these and whether you use or will use in future. We appreciate your responses.

Every year, police recover suspected stolen property including bicycles, tools, mobile phones, laptops and other valuables. Unfortunately, some items cannot be returned because ownership cannot be proven. Registering and marking your property can make it easier to identify recovered items and reunite them with their rightful owner.
