Safer Streets Funding bid

West Yorkshire Police, the Mayor of West Yorkshire, and our community safety local authority partners are bidding for funding from the Home Office Safer Streets Fund in connection to the following two priorities and the interventions that have been shown to be effective against them; we would welcome your views.

1. Preventing violence against women and girls at night in West Yorkshire

Interventions will include staffed safe spaces in our towns and city centres, increased presence of street marshalls, greater training for night time economy staff to challenge unacceptable or aggressive behaviour and help those in need.

2. Tackling motorbike related anti-social behaviour and vehicle crime

Inventions will include greater partnership focus on identification and seizure of motorbikes ridden illegally, providing targeted diversionary motorbike activities for young people in affected areas and engage with communities about what they would like to see developed in their local area.

Do you agree with these two priorities and the interventions identified by West Yorkshire Police, the Mayor and local authority partners?
